Appearance:

Silly Lily has dark red hair and almond-shaped eyes of the most brilliant green you've ever seen. She's very pale and her face and arms are speckled with very faint freckles that she covers up as much as she can. She has an athletic build and rather enjoys flying, although she's never tried out for the house Quidditch team. You'll never catch her without RED lipstick and BLACK eyeliner because she likes the way they make her pale skin and green eyes pop. She's just a tad vain...honestly...just a bit...

History:

Lily was a troublemaker in primary school. It wasn't so much that she was a bad kid as that she just didn't see any need for school. She'd taught herself to read early on and was absolutely convinced that there was nothing she couldn't learn on her own. Also, what was the point of recess, exactly? It seemed like a reason for other kids to pick on her sister, which Lily would not tolerate. Her sister was exactly that: HERS.

Petunia and Lily were very close as children and have remained so throughout their teenage years. Petunia has even managed to forgive her little sister for being the one to fight off the other kids, and for getting them transfered to a private school after simply explaining to a teacher that he looked like a penis. Lily maintains that his wearing turtleneck sweaters didn't help ((yes, I may or may not have stolen that idea from The Class)). She loves her sister the way a normal person would love a puppy: she is Lily's property. Petunia loves Lily because she's her sister after all, but she's scared of her. Lily knows this and has always used that fact to keep control over their relationship.

Lily has NO patience for her parents. Her mother is forever trying to put her in pink and lace and GIRLY things. Lily does not like GIRLY things. She also does not like hearing her mother talk about "cute boys." Her father was incredibly distant from the family, and finally just up and left about two years ago. At the time Lily cut her hair incredibly short and vowed never to speak of him again.

Never one for large crowds and meaningful connections, Lily didn't have many friends as a child. It didn't bother her, because she had cats. The neighbor's pets and all of the stray cats in the neighborhood were drawn to her, and she ended up adopting a fair few of them until her mother started screaming at her to get the damn cats out of the house.

The letter that arrived when Lily turned eleven was more exciting for her family than for her. Even her father had managed to show some interest in having a magical daughter. Lily wasn't surprised. She knew she was different. What WAS surprising was ending up in Slytherin. Lily had actually bothered to find out something about the school while shopping by purchasing Hogwarts: A History and quizzing anyone that would take five minutes to talk to a little girl, so she knew that this was not normal. The best she could figure was that there had to be some wizarding blood in her past somewhere, or maybe that stupid Sorting Hat was TOO OLD AND SMELLY to do its job properly anymore.

Her blood was a moot point about two weeks into the term. She more than proved herself magically capable, and the three cats she had managed to smuggle in were rather protective of her (read: someone got a claw to the eye for threatening her). It never came up again after her first year, mostly because Lily clearly wasn't bothered by being a "Mudblood" and it's no fun to torment people when they don't react.

Personality:

Her wand is Oak, 10 1/4" with a dragon heart-string core. She likes dark colors and rich wine, thick books and sleeping next to her cats. A truly ambitious Slytherin, Lily studies as hard as she can because she's got her eye on an obscure department in the Ministry that creates and regulates experimental charms. Her music of choice is loud, she can't draw a straight line with a ruler, and she won't hesitate to hex you if you're in her way. She is definitely not sweet. ((she and _levi Bellatrix would probably get along. 0_0))

Bitchiness aside, Lily does like talking to people. A lot. She can't help it, but different stories just interest her. It's sort of like an okay form of voyeurism to look into someone's life like that. She collects odd bits of people she talks to (not body parts...yet...) and reads about and writes strange little poems that she would never show to ANYONE. She just likes studying people.

She also likes studying religions, as she finds it so fascinating that someone would willingly give up their soul/afterlife/whatever to some parental figure or other up in the sky. Lily doesn't have a faith of her own, but she collects different religious odds'n'ends, such as the several rosaries that she sometimes wears but usually just drapes around her bed. By studying people, their habits and beliefs, Lily is desperately trying to understand what it is to be human. She can't comprehend things like love or faith without first taking it apart and putting it back together. Sometimes having a conversation with her is a bit like talking to a robot.

Lily does have a weakness for a pretty face, be it boy or girl. She doesn't like "cute," but she's all for striking looks or charm. However, she certainly doesn't have a type, and you don't have to be pretty to intrigue her, just interesting and preferably intelligent. You could hardly call her a slut because she rarely has time for sex, but she certainly doesn't hate it. She's never bothered to "date" anyone, although such a thing isn't entirely out of the question. She just doesn't see the point of falling for someone and winding up pregnant, in a failing marriage, or both. Clearly she has some baggage from her strained family situation. If she were to ever be with someone, she would OWN them completely.

A note about her cats: they will hurt you. She picks up the nastiest, meanest, most insane strays she can find. The one you have to be the most cautious of is Fluffy. Fluffy has absolutely no fur, is missing an eye, and has abnormally long claws and fangs. Fluffy cannot be touched by anyone except his mistress, and he will try to bite you in the throat if she wishes it. They're like attack dogs, but smaller and quieter (and you have a greater chance of living through it, of course. They're just cats after all).

What has changed about your character:

Pfft, I think the only things that really stayed the same are her general appearance, the fact that she's ((kinda sorta ;] )) muggleborn, and her absolute LOVE for cats. If it sucks, I'll rework it. xP Basically, this Lily is a Very Troubled Girl. She's just not all there.
